We renovated and extended our 1930’s Mt Hawthorn home. As with all old homes, the construction uncovered a few surprises but Brett solved these all in his stride and without worry or hassle. As Vic Park residents, we had admired a number of Brett/Fruition’s work on character homes in the suburb. When we purchased our own fixer-upper that needed a significant amount of work, we immediately contacted Brett to begin the design process.
Due to the quality of his character restoration work, we also decided to engage Brett for the renovation and build of our home.
Throughout the build process we were involved and able to communicate readily with Brett and his trades. The vast majority of Brett’s trades were approachable and friendly which we felt added to our build experience. The build process was flexible, and completed with some demanding time constraints, along with both trade and supply shortages. Despite a number of challenges, Brett completed our incredible family home in good time, but also while maintaining the high standards we have come to expect from Fruition Design & Build, while staying within the realms of our budget constraints.
We are very happy with our decision to build with a smaller boutique builder, who appreciates character restoration and was able to design and build to our requests with a high level of workmanship.

Having known Brett for many years, he was the first person we spoke with to discuss our renovation and he was extremely helpful in providing ideas and guidance even before we engaged him to undertake the design work. Brett understood our brief and helped us shape a design response that made the character aspect of our home shine, whilst seamlessly blending it with the contemporary living space we desired. Despite speaking to other builders for the construction aspect, our experience with Brett during the design phase of the project, coupled with the peace of mind and continuity of working with the same person from inception of the idea, through to delivery of the project made him the clear choice to also undertake the build.
Having never built or renovated before, Brett’s experience, excellent communication skills and his attention to detail made the process easy and stress-free.
